I got them to add back in the TCP poling method and some of it's features that we needed to 5.x but in the end 4.x was still more grounded in just plain working and reporting info correctly that matched up with other tools and with more useful options.īut, like I said, once they bring 5.x into full feature parity and fix some of the functionality issues, the way they setup the service feature is superior and will be a benefit.Īnother thing I'd like to see changed from the initial method for 5.x is how it it does the logging :/ in 4.x they are written to separate compressed files at an interval you set, and you can open those instandard or free version to review if needed, and backing up or archiving data out of the program is as easy as backing up the files directly or moving the older files to an archive location.
I spent a lot of time working with their support on the one I upgraded to 5.x to see if they could resolve those issues and put in some missing features and improve the interface especially for alerting, but eventually gave up and didn't renew support. So, tbh the 4.x line is still what most of my ping plotter pros are using, but I can't make the service method work to show me the interface anymore since some MS patches, so it just has to run as a form in a certain user, and I'm OK eith that.Ĥ.x still shows route changes correctly, and in 5.x there were issues where it would stop collecting data but show as if it were still collecting data and the alerts left something to be desired. I think 5.x will be superior when they finish getting rid of all the bugs, as the service feature in 4.x is very poor, and the way it works in 5.x is superior, but has its iwn set of issues.

My only issue is the 5.x line was not worth the upgrade, don't bother to upgrade to 5.x, use 4.x instead, there are some false info in 5.x and all sorts of stability and functionality miss-match issues, at least as od late last year.
